Q: Why did you write and develop The Essence of Reiki Home Study Course?
Since the release of our best selling book The Essence of Reiki (ISBN0953262006) in 1995, we have looked for ways to bring the gift of Reiki to more people around the world. We have been driven by the countless requests we have received from people wanting to buy our book; which unfortunately is now out of print, and from people contacting us asking for a new way to fast-track their study and practice of Reiki.

Let's face it, when you become sick or a loved one is diagnosed with a serious illness you need a quick solution to try to help relieve any pain and suffering. Not everyone has the time, money and resources to spend weeks, months or years attending workshops or visiting reiki practitioners. Now thanks to technology and the internet we are now able to make the study and practice of Usui Reiki more accessible and affordable in a clear, concise and understandable way.

Q: What is "Reiki"?
Reiki (pronounced "ray-key") is an ancient form of hands on healing. Reiki means "Universal Life Force Force".

Q: Do I need to know anything about Reiki to use this book?
Thereis no pre-requisite for the study of Reiki. The home study course has been designed to teach you everything you'd need to know about the First Degree of Reiki so you will be able to practice Reiki on yourself and others. It is explained in a simple and easy to understand way with lots of full colour illustrations.

Q: I'm already a Reiki Practitioner. Is this book for me?
Yes. The aim of the book is to help you become a better Reiki Practitioner, so you can work more effectively with Reiki in your daily practice and so you can help spread the word and use of the universal life force across the globe.

I have had a number of Reiki Practitioners tell me that the Essence of Reiki had enhanced their understanding of Reiki and provided them with more confidence to practice reiki on themselves and others.

Q: What is a Reiki attunement?
A Reiki attunement is a special ceremony performed by a reiki master either in person in a workshop or by distant attunement. It connects the student with the universal life force and opens them up to the flow of the Reiki energy. Once you've been attuned, you can perform Reiki forever.

Q: Is it possible to distantly attune someone to Reiki?
Yes. They really do work. Thousands of people who have already received the distant attunements are testament to the power and validity of distant attunements.

Q: Shouldn't people study Reiki under a Reiki Master?
Yes.Both Garry and Adele Malone are Reiki Masters. We wrote the book as if it were a class we were teaching in our workshops in Harley Street London or Watford Hertfordshire. So you will be studying with not one but two Reiki Masters.

Q: Don't you have to take time to learn Reiki?
This is myth everyone seems to come across in the world of Reiki, and it really shouldn't be taken seriously.

You may also have heard that Reiki teachings can only be passed on by word of mouth or that you have to serve a long apprenticeship before you can become a Reiki Master.

You'll be pleased to hear that this is all quite untrue and unnecessary.

Dr Usui was attuned to all the levels of Reiki in one go - he became a Reiki Master all at once - no waiting times for him.

He issued all his students with written manuals and his only apprenticeship was that of life itself.

Q: Won't home study "dilute" the Reiki energy?
It is our belief that Reiki energy is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. We cannot change it or dilute it, we are merely helping to focus and direct the energy. The person receiving reiki and or the attunement is doing all the work by being open to reiki. Reiki's unfathomably intelligence performs the attunement. The attunement ceremony cannot be incorrectly performed. No matter how great or small our experience with reiki, it's important to remove the ego and realise we are only the vessels, the conduits - Reiki will always go where it is needed it can never be done wrong. The energy itself precludes it.

Q: Isn't it wrong to make money out of Reiki?
No. Both Garry and Adele have spent many years and many thousands of pounds in the study of reiki and the development of their home study course. We have made the home study course affordable and easily accessible so anyone can become a reiki practitioner without the need to spend a small fortune and lots of time acquiring these skills and qualifications. Many reiki masters charge anywhere from several hundred to several thousand pounds for their classes. We believe that it is better to provide an alternative that saves both time and money.

We value both our time and our training. It is acceptable we believe to ask for a small fee for our work (not only the work on the book, but we both also personally conduct the distant attunement for you) and our personal endorsement (we provide you with certification so you can practice reiki on yourself and others).

Q: What are your credentials?
Garry and Adele Malone are both Certified Usui Reiki Masters since 1997; Certified Master practitioners of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and certified Clinical Hypnotherapists, who run a busy practice from their clinics in Harley Street, London and Hertfordshire.
